Tired of the unlimited arrangement of highly contrasting photographs that were prevalent in the day, French broker Albert Kahn chose to make a move. In 1909, he appointed four picture takers to take their cameras all around the globe, and utilizing Autochrome Lumière, to archive in shading what they saw.
One of the urban communities on the rundown was Paris, and in 1914, Leon Gimpel, Stephane Passet, Georges Chevalier, and Auguste Leon started their work.
